Love your dog to bits, but dread the walks? Let's fix that.
Kind, science-led dog training near Ely, covering Cambridgeshire and Cambridge.
Puppy classes, follow-on classes, outdoor workshops and 1:1 training, all built on the same idea. Work with how your dog's brain is wired, not against it, and everything gets easier.
Maybe your dog pulls like a freight train. Maybe they blank you the second another dog appears, or like to share their every opinion with the rest of the park. None of it means you've got a bad dog, and it certainly doesn't mean you've failed them. It usually means nobody's shown the two of you a clear way through it yet.
That's where I come in.
My training is evidence-based and science-led from start to finish. No barking commands and demanding your dog obeys, and definitely none of that old 'show them who's boss' nonsense. We use cues to ask, we work out why your dog's doing what they're doing, and we teach them what to do instead. It's kind, it works, and it makes having a dog good fun again.
There's a bit more to it than obedience, too. I've spent over fifteen years working dogs in scent, gundog, mantrailing and search work, using the drives they were born with. I bring that same thinking to the everyday stuff, so all that energy your dog has gets somewhere good to go.
Wherever you and your dog are right now, there's a way in:
New puppy? Puppy Life Skills classes get you off on the right foot before the tricky habits set in.
Past the puppy stage? The Life Skills classes carry on the work, including a class built for the teenage months when everything seems to fall apart.
Want to give your dog a proper job? The outdoor workshops and Sunday Scent Club tap into what they were born to do.
Something specific that needs real attention, like reactivity or recall? That's what 1:1 training is for.
Not sure which one fits? That's exactly what a quick chat is for.

“Before finding Calum, we struggled to access group classes or dog trainers because we don’t drive. Having someone come to us has made a huge difference and not just for convenience, but also for how well the training works. Training Billy in our local parks makes everything more realistic and helps reinforce the behaviours we want from him.
It’s also a great reminder that there’s no progress if you don’t put the work in between sessions—but having Calum’s support makes it feel manageable and motivating.
Billy always finishes tired (in the best way), and we leave each session feeling more confident.”
“Our five-year-old dog, Albus, has always been a puller on the lead, and he’s recently had some back problems. His physiotherapist recommended working on his lead training to help reduce strain on his back ...
Calum provided a lot of practical tips and clear guidance, along with regular support via a 1-to-1 WhatsApp group whenever we needed it. After each session, he sent follow-up videos and notes so we could review and practise between lessons; we found this incredibly helpful.
We’re now much more confident that, with continued consistency from us, Albus (who has already improved hugely) will soon be a perfect walker.”
“Willow my young rescue Great Dane arrived with a lot of challenging mental ‘baggage’ . She & I attended Callum’s 1:1 ‘Reactivity’ / Socialising sessions followed by several sessions in group ‘’Puppy’ training . This has enabled Willow to become much happier, settled & a more tolerant dog. ”
I'm Calum. I've been a dog training instructor for over fifteen years and an APDT member for at least twelve of them. I'm based at White Cross Farm in Wilburton, just outside Ely, and I work with people and dogs right across Cambridgeshire. If you want the longer version, head to my About page. If you'd rather just have a chat about your dog, the button's right here.
