Dogs: You are responsible for the conduct of your own dog during our classes and workshops at all times. Please be aware of other dogs and do not allow your dog to approach others without asking the handlers; some dogs may be uncomfortable around other dogs or people and handlers may be working through these problems by closely monitoring their dog’s proximity to others. DOGS MUST BE KEPT ON A LEAD at all times unless hiring the Secure Field for exclusive use, or as directed by one of the Developing Dogs or Wood and Woof teams.

DOGS MUST BE ON LEAD IN THE CAR PARK AREA AT ALL TIMES

If your dog becomes anxious, barking, growling or in any way uncomfortable during one of our classes we will take immediate action to help them cope. This includes moving them to a quieter part of the training space, or asking you to take them outside to give them a break. We NEVER punish barking, growling etc – they are the only methods your dog has for communicating their discomfort. In some circumstances we will ask you to leave the class and work with you to find a more appropriate class or 1:1 to meet your needs. If your dog is aggressive towards another dog or person this indicates they are too close and cannot cope in the environment, which is against our ethos and aims. We do not allow dogs who are aggressive – which includes barking and growling – towards other dogs in our general classes but we do offer specific classes where we are able to give dogs greater space, and help you and them learn to feel comfortable around other dogs. We can also, after assessment, allow dogs in to our classes once we have agreed a specific management plan with you. This is entirely at our discretion.

Please pick up after your dog and use the poo bin provided. If your dog toilets indoors please use the cleaning equipment available to clear up after them.

The car park has little shade and cars MUST be covered appropriately to keep cars cool in warm weather.  Water and adequate ventilation are essential.  Developing Dogs and Woof and Wood reserve the right to ask owners to leave and take their dogs home should the dog’s welfare be compromised.

Fees: Payment of the course fees will secure a place on a course.  We are sorry but we are unable to hold places open without payment.

Cancellations by You:  If you need to cancel a booking you may do so up to 14 days prior to the start date of the course or appointment. This includes cancellations for illness etc. In such circumstances an email must be received by Woof and Wood more than 14 days prior to the event and a full refund minus a £20 administration fee will be made.  Cancellations received less than 14 days before the event will not be entitled to a refund unless the place can be re-sold. A £20 admin fee will apply in those circumstances. Refunds can and will only be made by the same method the original payment was received.  We do not offer a refund or replacement class for classes missed once a course has started. If you do not attend for any reason you forfeit that lesson or course of lessons.

We do not offer a refund or replacement session for any bookings to use the field if you are unable to attend your scheduled slot. You can rearrange your slots via the online booking system up to 24 hours before your booking time.

Cancellations by Us: In the event that we need to cancel the course due to unforeseen circumstances, a full refund will be made to all delegates within 14 days of the cancellation date. Notification of cancellation will be made to all delegates by email. Refunds can and will only be made by the same method the original payment was received.  Should this occur on the actual date of the course we will attempt to make contact by telephone wherever possible.  We will also post a cancellation notice on Facebook (DevelopingDogs), and the website www.developingdogs.co.uk providing that Internet access is available.

Training Methods & Equipment: Woof and Wood is proud to follow the APDT, UK Code of Practice.

Harsh handling, physical or emotional intimidation, choke or pinch collars, spray collars, electronic training collars or hand held spray devices will not be allowed on site and anyone who wishes to use such techniques will be asked to refrain, and to leave if not willing to train without pain, fear or intimidation. No refunds will be given in these circumstances.

Health & Safety: All attendees agree to abide by the health & safety instructions given by the organisers, in particular, evacuation procedures in the event of a fire.

Parking: Developing Dogs and Woof and Wood take no responsibility for damage/loss to cars parked on their premises. Guidance will be given on arrival on where to park.  Please park considerately as space is limited.

Using the Field: Our field is naturally managed fen land. It is uneven and contains several natural hazards such as a pond, rabbit warrens and bramble patches, as well as the Confidence Course. The fences are a minimum of 4ft high. Use of the field does not include the 6ft fenced paddocks or any of the equipment within those paddocks.

When using the field, please ensure you have vacated the field and that your dogs are back in your car before the end of your time slot. Many people walking here do so because their dogs are reactive to other dogs and they cannot get them out of their car if there are other dogs in the car park.

Please do not bring dogs with potentially contagious illnesses to walk in the field. Bitches in season are allowed.

You, and your dog, walk there at your own risk and agree to abide by all the above conditions.
